thanks for the upload !!  i have a question behind the reasoning - I do not get the "fixing z_2" part. how can we fix z2 knowing that is does not have to be 1 ? for example: let lambda be =1, z2 =3, p1=2 and p2 = 1, we have u'(q1) < u'(q2) . this contradicts our solution , no? (i am confused by my own answer as this means the higher z2, the less we reach our proof of q2>0 under q1, which intuitively does not make sense (as a higher z2 should lead to a higher demand in q2) thanks for any answer in advance |
