The position
In a global, cross-functional environment the System Development (SD) department is responsible for workflow optimization and the successful integration of hardware, software, consumables and reagents to finally perform the system verification of diagnostics instruments.
As an Internship you will work as a part of a cross-functional team on automating and tooling in the context of development and product care of complex diagnostics systems, consisting of fluidics, robotics software, thermal, electrical, mechanical and biochemistry elements.
In this position, you will be responsible for the following areas:
Elaboration of (Cobots-) Robotics concepts within a laboratory environment, to support our vision of a dark lab by fully automating laboratory operation and workflows.
Programming, testing and maintaining of new created and existing automated solution within our laboratories.
Knowledge in one or more programming languages (e.g. Python, C#/NET, LabVIEW etc.)
Supporting our Integration Teams in installation of Robotics Solutions within our laboratory environment
Plan, coordinate and execution of small work packages within your area of responsibility including reporting and escalation of topics or issues to the management.
Be able to work as an individual and as part of a team
Who you are
You are currently enrolled as a student or have recently graduated (within the last 12 months), with a bachelor or master preferably in computer science with specific knowledge in e.g. robotics and/or vison, electrical engineering or systems engineering or equivalent.
You are excited to start your professional career in the medical diagnostics industry.
Excellent spoken and written command of English (German is advantageous).
You are able to communicate appropriately with different target groups.
You are motivated to build, manage and foster relationships and networks within the department and the related projects.
Quick grasp and understanding of complex issues, conceptual and creative thinking.
Due to regulations non-EU/EFTA citizens must provide a certificate from the university stating that an internship is mandatory as part of the application documents.
