We are offering an opportunity for an internship in our BGE (Blood Gas & Electrolytes) System Reagents Development Team to a team-oriented, inquisitive and motivated person.
Blood Gas & Electrolyte (BGE) System Reagents team is a team within BGE R&D department at Roche Diagnostics International in Rotkreuz. To our expertise belong calibrators, controls, internal and supporting solutions needed to operate our BGE instruments. The System Reagents team comprises people with background in analytical method development, chemistry, material science and lab-scale production of reagents. We perform multi-disciplinary projects and tasks in the following areas:
Development or change of reagent formulations (calibrators, controls, internal solutions)
Replacement of raw materials in reagent production
Improvements of test methods and quality control (QC) methods
Evaluation and specification of primary packaging materials
Support of operations and regulatory affairs
Product care for all system reagents in the BGE systems
We work in a close cooperation with other BGE R&D teams, reagent process improvement, reagent production and QC team.
As an Intern within BGE System Reagents team, you will be involved in the testing of the reagents, documentation of the test results, and preparation of chemical solutions in the laboratory. You will learn about:
IVD reagent requirements and medical devices
Chemical analytical methods for reagents
Stability studies
Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and documentation
To be successful in this role, you have the following education, knowledge, and skills:
Currently studying or recently graduated (no more than 12 months ago) with a Bachelor or Master Degree in Chemistry or Materials Science
Experience in analysis of chemicals and chemical solutions, experience with HPLC and gas analysis in liquid a plus
You have basic knowledge in inorganic and/or organic chemistry
You bring Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) knowledge
Fluent spoken and written language skills in English, German a plus
