  EY Young Tax Professional of the Year is an international competition designed to identify young talent with an interest in tax, help them enhance their professional skills and develop their careers. The competition gives participants the opportunity to share experiences with people from a range of backgrounds and cultures.
  
  By bringing together students from all over the world, the event aims to demonstrate how much the tax profession has changed today and how business is managed in different cultures. The competition will also expose participants to the skills required to be tomorrow’s leaders.
  
  During the competition, finalists will have to demonstrate to professional judges their technical skills and overall professional ability. The judging panel will be evaluating each participant based on the tax technical, reasoning, and presentation and communication competencies
  
  Who can apply?
  

  • The competition is open to undergraduates in their penultimate or final year or postgraduates who have a passion in tax.
  • Not currently employed by another Big 4 company
  • Undergraduates close to their final exams or
  • (Ideally) Master students in business and economics or banking and finance or
  • (Ideally) Law students

  
  
  The online application is open till 31 July 2019. To register, participants must submit an online application and upload their CV with relevant results.
  
  
  The „Young Tax Professional of the Year” award has been attracting tax enthusiasts since 2011. This year’s event will consist of two challenging rounds, in which you are going to solve tax related tasks that will demand both your knowledge and your creativity. Are you up for the challenge?   Program:
  

  • Day 1 (26 September 2019): The top ten applicants will be invited to join the Swiss challenge at the EY office in Zurich on 26 September 2019. In order to know you better, we will spend the morning to understand the different needs and ambitions of the participants. After lunch, we will divide the participants into teams to solve a challenging case study.
  • Day 2 (27 September 2019): The top four applicants will proceed towards the individual single challenge and pitch their second case study to a jury, consisting of EY senior management and external tax specialists.
  • The winner of the Swiss finals will represent Switzerland in the international finals in Amsterdam and will be offered an internship or be rewarded with a conditional offer of employment within EY Tax department. The runner-up will be also offered an internship or rewarded with a conditional offer of employment within EY Tax department. The second runner-up will have the opportunity to participate in one of EY’s renowned Tax events.
  • International Finals: The national champions of over 25 countries will take part in the international finals in Amsterdam. There will be a series of case studies followed by interviews in front of a jury, who will select the three winners of this year’s competition.
  • The best of the best will win a 30-day business world trip including visits at EY London, EY New York or EY Hong Kong.
