We are a team of risk modelers in Group Risk Management, whose role is to develop and maintain Zurich’s economic capital and risk models, which are used for internal steering (Zurich Economic Capital Model, Z-ECM) as well as regulatory reporting (SST, Solvency II).
The objective of this role is to be part of the Z-ECM project team with the aim to further develop Zurich’s economic capital model, which is a key metric to measure our capital strength and return on capital and is widely used for risk-based decision taking by Group and business units alike. As part of the project we will additionally assess the implications of the revised SST framework and IFRS 17 on the Zurich’s economic capital model.
Your Role
Your main responsibilities in this project role will involve:
- Support development of concepts and methods, perform model owner validation and parameterization of key elements of the Z-ECM model, in particular:
- Develop options and analyze implications of overall Z-ECM framework due to regulatory developments (Solvency II and SST) and IFRS 17
- Enhance the aggregation methodology to capture the diversification between our various risk types
- Review the approach to allocate required capital to risk types, business units and lines of business and run impact studies
- Support the embedding of the enhanced Z-ECM framework and related capital metrics into business steering
- Communicate and explain approaches and results to internal stakeholders
Primary work location is Zurich.
