The Position
As a Mass Spectrometry Intern, you will have the opportunity to work in our MS service lab and gain valuable experience in the field of mass spectrometry, chromatography and analytical chemistry. You will have insights in structure elucidation by MS and combined MS and NMR approaches. After a familiarization with the laboratory procedures and safety guidelines, your primary focus will be on enhancing the MS analytics of isotope labeled compounds and quantifying different isotope species. Additionally, you will be involved in investigating chromatographic separation methods for polar bases, with the goal of expediting the selection of effective LCMS methods for new compounds in the future.
Responsibilities:
Assist in improving MS analytics of isotope labeled compounds. Contribute to the quantitation of different isotope species.
Participate in research and experimentation related to chromatographic separation methods for polar bases.
Collaborate with the team to analyze data, draw conclusions, and propose improvements.
Maintain accurate records of experiments, results, and observations.
Who you are:
Currently pursuing or recently completed (in the last 12 months) a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry or a related field.
Strong foundation in organic chemistry. Solid understanding of analytical chemistry principles and techniques.
Basic knowledge of mass spectrometry, particularly LCMS and GCMS, is beneficial.
Curiosity, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn new techniques and methodologies.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Fluency in English or German
