You will contribute to the software development of optimisation applications in the energy environment and independently implement performance improvements, new functionalities and prototypes. We offer you the opportunity to apply your knowledge of mathematical optimisation and your programming skills in an innovative environment and to implement your ideas profitably in a 3-6 month internship. We are looking for a new team member in this interesting field with a passion for mathematical optimisation (operations research) and software development in Python.
Adrian Hauswirth, Senior Data & Optimisation Scientist, has found the following position for you:
You are passionate about this field
You will support the Endaprime team in the further development of the HIVE application for the planning of cellular energy systems. You will be responsible for improving the code quality and the computing times of the central optimisation application (linear optimisation). For this purpose, you will perform refactorings, evaluate alternative optimisation solvers (GUROBI, CPLEX, etc.) and optimise parameters. Thanks to your previous experience and know-how, you can offer your help in developing new features for the optimisation application. You also enjoy helping to develop innovative prototypes and proof-of-concepts in the area of optimisation and machine learning for energy systems.
We're impressed by your expertise
- You have completed your Bachelor's or Master's degree in natural sciences or engineering and attended lectures on mathematical optimisation.
- You have programming experience in Python (incl. object-oriented programming) with a focus on numerical computations (numpy, pandas, pyomo), ideally in a collaborative environment (incl. code versioning, issue tracking, etc.).
- You have already applied your knowledge of mathematical optimisation and machine learning in projects or internships.
- With your careful and structured way of working you write clear and efficient program code of high quality and you understand how to explain technical issues in a simple way.
