Preclinical Chemistry, Manufacturing and Controls (pCMC) is a global function within Pharma Research and Early Development (pRED). We develop robust and innovative API synthesis and formulations to supply and enable key preclinical activities paving the way towards Entry Into Human. We are CMC experts and together with our discovery functions partners, we generate scientific and technical knowledge to assess the developability of drug candidates. We build our strength on a broad diversity of enthusiastic technical experts, pharmacists, chemists and analytical scientists delivering and innovating in the space of small molecules, peptides and oligonucleotides.
We are offering a 6 months internship in 2022/23 on the topic:
Development of a Web Application using Python
To assist in the decision making process of formulation development, in silico calculation and prediction tools become increasingly pivotal.
This internship supports the intention of integrating current preformulation tools in practice into one framework by developing a web application for computer aided formulation advice. The internship offers:
Getting insights into a wide variety of important preformulation topics, e.g. DCS classification, permeability and solubility estimation, solid state compound properties
Getting to know relevant code libraries for cheminformatics tasks (e.g. RDKit)
Exchange with data scientists and preformulation specialists
This internship position will not involve laboratory work but will focus on programming work only
Who you are:
You are preferably a postgraduate student (master or 2nd state examination) in the field of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Bio- or Physicalchemistry or Biotechnology with a strong interest in coding with Python. Furthermore, you are interested in using and sharing your knowledge as part of your Internship in a modern working environment. Your further profile for this position:
Reliable and accurate working style
Team-oriented and decision-making personality
Self-sufficient, problem solving-oriented work habits
Good knowledge of Python with first experiences in web application development (HTML, django, flask) as well as data science (e.g. Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib). Knowledge in cheminformatics and machine learning is a plus.
Proficient in English, German is a plus
