Pharmaceutical Sciences (PS) is a global function within Roche Pharma Research and Early Development (pRED). We enable discovery and early development of drug candidates in a rich portfolio of small molecules, large molecules, oligonucleotides and gene therapies in oncology, immunology, neuroscience, ophthalmology, rare and infectious diseases.
In the DMPK/PD leaders department we provide innovative drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics (DMPK) and translational PK/PD strategies to the entire pRED portfolio, bridging from in-silico and in-vitro systems or pre-clinical species into humans, from early discovery all the way through to registration and beyond. We currently are looking for a highly motivated student to join our group for PhD internship.
In this position, you will:
Develop a database of in vivo pharmacokinetic studies in rodents and humans for small molecule drugs using Roche in-house and literature data
Develop machine learning property predictions based on chemical structural features
Develop physiologically based models to predict pharmacokinetics in vivo in rodents and humans leveraging the properties predicted with the machine learning models
Lead the drafting of scientific publications on the work performed
Who you are
You are an enrolled student in a PhD program (or recently finished) with a focus in pharmacy, pharmaceutical sciences, biomedical sciences, engineering, drug sciences and/or medicine.
Moreover you are/have:
Basic knowledge of pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic principles
Basic knowledge of physiologically-based pharmacokinetic modeling
Basic knowledge of chemistry and/or structure activity relationships
