What academic qualifications do you require?

Our full-time Analyst and Career Start programs require a bachelor's or master's degree or the equivalent. Our full-time Associate program requires an MBA or equivalent from a top business school, and several years of work experience.

Our Internship Program is open to university students who have completed at least four semesters of a Bachelor's degree program or who are enrolled in a Master's degree program.

Our Summer Internship Program is open to students who are in the advanced stages of their Master's studies, planning to graduate and to start their professional career in the next 12 months.

What courses/major do you recommend I pursue if I am interested in a career with an investment bank?

In addition to your required coursework, make sure the other courses that you take demonstrate a diversity of intellectual interests and challenges. Courses in math, economics and other quantitative areas are good to take if you are interested in working in one of our core businesses such as Investment Banking, Private Banking & Wealth Management or Asset Management.

How long is the summer internship?

Our summer internship programs typically last three months, but may vary by region.

What type of training will I receive?

Participants in our Career Starter Program receive a mix of classroom and on-the-job training. The training programs vary according to the business and region in which you are placed, but the training includes technical and soft skills training presentation and communication skills, and industry training. Participants in our internship programs also receive on-the-job training.

Does Credit Suisse offer scholarships?

Scholarships are offered by some regions, but not in Switzerland. If you are applying for a region other than Switzerland, please check the regional site in which you are interested.

I am still in high school. Are there opportunities for me?

Switzerland is the only region that offers Apprenticeships and the Junior Banking Program for high-school students. Local language proficiency (German, French or Italian) is required. Please visit our Switzerland Apprentices or High School Students websites for more information.

  Full-Time Analyst Hiring Programs

What full-time programs are available for recent college or university graduates?

When and in which locations do you hire for full-time programs?

The majority of entry-level hires are in our core offices: Geneva, Hong Kong, London, Mumbai, New York, Paris, Pune, Raleigh, Singapore, Zurich and Wroclaw. At what point in my studies can I apply for a full-time Analyst or Associate position, or the Career Start Program?

Please note that the majority of our full-time hires are selected from our internship programs, so we advise all candidates to apply for an internship as a path to full-time employment at Credit Suisse. However, we do offer a select number of full-time roles for students who have not participated in our internship programs, and we encourage you to check our website all year around.

When am I expected to start if I am offered a position?

We have open Internship and Career Start positions all year long. Our Summer Internship Programs begin in July.

What type of training will I receive?

You will receive essential training in technical business subjects, presentation techniques, interpersonal "soft" skills and industry training. Additionally, our Talent Development program offers more than 8,000 different courses for ongoing education.

Will I rotate during my first year?

During the Swiss Career Start Program many areas offer one or more rotation(s). In other regions we do not offer rotational programs in Investment Banking, Asset Management, Private Banking & Wealth Management or Operations. However, new hires that join our Technology (IT) team rotate into another role within the department during their second year of employment. There's also an opportunity to expand into another area with a four- to six-month program extension during the 12-18-month Career Start Program.

What types of positions are available for candidates with an MBA or other advanced degree?

We offer Associate positions in a wide variety of business for MBA students. In addition, we offer positions in finance for candidates with advanced degrees in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Operations Research, Economics, Actuarial Science and Quantitative Finance.

  The Recruitment Process

How does the recruitment process work?

In Switzerland, we recruit all year long through direct applications, campus visits and events. We encourage you to attend as many campus events as possible to learn about us, our businesses and the roles that we offer, and to meet our people. You can learn about the events that we are offering on your campus by checking the Events section of our website. Please note that the recruitment process can vary by Swiss region and follows the regional customs.

After you have determined your interest in our businesses or programs, you will need to apply online using our online application system. You should ensure that your resume/CV is up to date before you apply, as you will need to submit it through our system. Qualified applicants may be asked to participate in up to three rounds of interviews. Finally, a select number of candidates then receive job offers.

What is the typical length of time for the process?

In Switzerland, we interview for roles all year round. The length of time for the process depends on the number of applications that we receive and the screening process.

When will Credit Suisse visit my campus?

  The Application Process

Can I apply for a summer internship if I am not in my penultimate year of study?

In Switzerland, the summer internship program is open only to students who are in the advanced stages of their Master's studies, planning to graduate and to start their professional career in the next 12 months.

Can I apply to more than one business area?

Yes, candidates may apply to up to two areas that may include a combination of different businesses and locations. However, these applications must be submitted at the same time. However, these applications must be submitted at the same time. In Switzerland it is possible to apply for more than two positions.

Can I apply for more than one area within a line of business?

Yes, but this varies by region and business, so please discuss your interests with your recruiter before applying.

Can I apply to different regions?

Do you accept applications from people who graduated one to three years ago?

We accept applications from people with work experience for our Career Start Program. However, if you completed university one-to-three years ago, we recommend that you apply for Experienced Hire roles through our Experienced Professionals website.

Am I eligible to apply if I require a work permit/visa?

Why can't I find my country in the search criteria?

Should I apply if I didn't study business or economics?

Yes, Credit Suisse encourages applicants from a variety of disciplines.

If Credit Suisse does not visit my campus, will my application still be considered?

While Credit Suisse can only visit a very limited number of schools, we recognize there are many talented students who attend schools where we do not have a campus presence. We do consider students from non-core schools, and the process for non-core candidates varies by region and business. Please be sure to adhere to the relevant application deadlines for that region/program.

Do I need relevant work experience to apply?

You do not need to have work experience for our entry-level programs. For Associate roles, candidates will need at least three years' work experience, but it does not need to be in the finance/banking industry.

Do I have to take an online assessment test? Or will I be tested otherwise?

For Switzerland positions, you will be asked to complete online tests only if you are invited to an interview. Each test will take 20 minutes for you to complete and you have only one opportunity to complete these tests. To familiarize yourself with the test format, we recommend you take practice tests available online beforehand.

How can I be part of the recruiting process if I am studying abroad?

We advise students to begin their research and developing a network at home of alumni, recruiters and other contact people before embarking on your overseas studies. Then, stay in touch with recruiters, alumni and your university's career services office to be apprised of critical events, deadlines and interview opportunities.

  The Interview Process

When will I know if I've been selected for an interview?

If you meet the initial requirements after applying online, we will contact you via email or through your campus career office to set up an interview.

How shall I prepare for the interview?

Know the requirements of the position, which you may obtain from a recruiter. It's a good idea to read the financial press to be current on the industry and market trends. Learn about the bank by reviewing the information on our website, reaching out to your networking connections, and through your own research.

How many rounds to interviews will I have to attend?

You may expect two to three rounds of interviews with one to two mid-level and/or senior bankers at each round. Some positions may require additional rounds.

Will my interview expenses, such as travel, be reimbursed?

Typically, yes, but we advise inquiring about the guidelines with your local recruiter to determine allowable expenses prior to your travel.

What is the best way to follow up after the interview?

Be prompt in sending thank you notes to each person you met and ask the recruiter the preferred method of contact with him/her.

When will I hear if I have an offer?

The offer is usually communicated within a short time after final interviews are completed. You will be contacted by a representative of Credit Suisse should we plan to extend you an offer.

What kind of career development does Credit Suisse offer?

All new hires receive initial classroom and on the job training specific to their line of business. Additionally, our internal training Talent Development program offers more than 8,000 programs for ongoing education throughout the course of your career with us, from Analyst programs through leadership and soft-skills training programs for senior executives such as Managing Directors. Finally, we offer mentorship programs and employee networks to provide ongoing guidance and support throughout your career.
